Victorian English: Weekly Listening Series & Mini-Course
Short, frequent audio episodes, designed to help you understand Victorian English, speak more elegantly, and refine your pronunciation week by week.
This project is part listening series, part course. Several times a week you receive a new 10–15 minute audio episode built around one Victorian-style expression, explained in simple English, with guidance on how to pronounce it and how to make it sound naturally elegant. The aim is to help you sound composed, confident, and quietly refined in British English.

What You Receive

• 3–5 new audio episodes every week
• Victorian expressions explained in simple, everyday English
• A short breakdown of the key words and phrases
• Examples showing how each expression can be used naturally
• Pronunciation notes on stress, intonation, and how to keep the sound refined
• A small accompanying PDF with the main points

What You Will Become

  • You begin to speak with natural Victorian elegance.

  • Your pronunciation becomes clear and confidently RP.

  • Your daily English grows upper-class.

  • Your voice becomes distinctive and educated.

How It Works

Once you subscribe, you have access to all episodes released during your active subscription. New episodes appear throughout the week, and you can listen whenever you choose and as often as you wish. Each episode is short and easy to follow, so you can enjoy it during a walk, on your way to work, or at home when you have a quiet moment.

Episode Format

• Length: usually 10–15 minutes
• Frequency: published several times a week
• Volume: on average 3–5 episodes each week
• Content: explanation, examples, vocabulary notes, and pronunciation guidance

Pronunciation & Elegance

Each episode contains a short section on pronunciation. I set out the stress pattern and the vowel quality, and I explain the pace that gives Victorian English its characteristic poise. My purpose is to guide you towards a manner of speech that recalls the period and remains entirely intelligible in the present day.

Who This Series Is For

This series suits learners who enjoy regular, manageable input rather than long lessons. It is intended for those who appreciate language that feels thoughtful and slightly more refined, but who still want explanations given in straightforward, simple English.
